Onceupona Virtual Children’s Festival

The Original Virtual Children’s Theatre Festival as mentioned by Time Out in the Time In Awards 2020, The Daily Mirror & The Metro Newspaper

Onceupona Children’s Festival has gone virtual!

About Onceupona Children’s Theatre Festival:

In May 2020 Onceupona became a platform for other small theatre companies to support them and showcase their work in the first online children’s theatre festival: Onceupona Virtual Children’s Festival. In what has been a difficult time for everyone and a very turbulent year for children, families, and the arts, we wanted to provide a platform in which families across the UK and the world could engage with the arts and where small theatre companies could continue to create magical and stimulating work. The arts and theatre are important for children’s development, creativity, and imagination and can support the mental health of everyone.

‘A massive thank you for all the shows we have seen - they have all been amazing, well organised and really enjoyable.
Daisy has loved them all and seeing Santa just now has made her day so thank you to you and all the performers!’
— Adele & Daisy, Audience Members, Christmas 2020
Each show was lovely and great that they were all different in their content and delivery.
— Parent (Audience Member May 2020)
We really enjoyed the performances, nice to have something different to do at the moment. Very well organised & great for children all over the country.

A very beautiful performance of The Girl Who Married a Ghost story, May 29, 2020, by Little Supernovas. The interpretation of this story was creative, original and children got to take part too. I loved it, especially the way Brooke retold it with the use of music, toys, dolls, actors, and a narrator, which gave it a wider appeal.
For a second, I forgot I was watching the performance via Zoom and not in the theater. Very good.
